Refund policy

Last updated: 23 October 2026

This policy covers returns, refunds and our warranty for purchases made on ozmowertransmissions.com.au. Oz Mower Transmissions is a trading name of Drilling Support Solutions Pty Ltd (ABN 28 682 576 405).

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Nothing in this policy limits these rights. There is no fixed time limit on making a claim for a faulty product under the Australian Consumer Law, and we will not charge restocking fees on faulty items.

Change-of-mind returns

We do not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind, including where the wrong unit was ordered. Transmissions vary between production runs, so please confirm fitment before you order. Send us your mower's model and product/serial number (usually under the seat) and the part number on your old transmission, and we will confirm compatibility free of charge.

If you realise you have ordered the wrong unit before it has been dispatched, contact us straight away and we will cancel the order and refund you in full.

Damaged in transit

Please inspect the crate on delivery. If the transmission arrives damaged, contact us within 7 days with photos of the crate and the unit, and we will arrange a replacement or refund at no cost to you. Reporting promptly helps us claim against the courier; it does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Our 12-month / 100-hour warranty

In addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, every rebuilt transmission we sell is covered by our warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months from the date of delivery or 100 hours of use, whichever comes first. The benefits of this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies you have under the law in relation to the goods.

What is not covered by this warranty

This warranty does not cover failures caused by:

  • running the transmission with low oil, overfilling it, or using oil other than the 5W50 full synthetic supplied (or an equivalent specified by the manufacturer);
  • incorrect installation, opening the sealed unit, or modifying the transmission or its linkages;
  • overloading, or towing loads above the mower manufacturer's rating;
  • accident, misuse, flood or submersion.

The warranty does not include labour to remove or refit the transmission. These exclusions apply to our warranty only and do not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

How to make a warranty claim

  1. Contact us on 0429 446 077 or at support@ozmowertransmissions.com.au with your order number, your mower's make and model, the approximate hours since fitting, and a description (and if possible a short video) of the fault.
  2. We'll talk through the problem with you. Many issues, such as a bypass lever left engaged or a slipping drive belt, can be fixed on the spot.
  3. If the transmission needs to come back, we will email you a prepaid freight label and book the courier. Pack the unit in its original crate if you still have it.
  4. We will inspect the unit and contact you with the result, normally within 5 business days of receiving it.
  5. If the claim is accepted, we will repair or replace the transmission, or refund the purchase price, and return it to you at our cost. We pay the freight both ways on accepted claims.

If our inspection finds no fault, or the failure was caused by one of the exclusions above, we will explain what we found and discuss your options before doing any work. In that case we may ask you to pay the return freight. You can also seek a remedy under the Australian Consumer Law if you disagree with our assessment.

$100 core refund (trade-in)

Return your old transmission and we'll refund you $100. It can be faulty, but it must be complete. A Core Return Form comes in the crate with your new unit.

  1. Fit your rebuilt transmission and make sure you're happy with it.
  2. Clean external oil and dirt off the old unit and pack it securely in the original crate. Do not drain the internal oil.
  3. Fill in the Core Return Form (contact, pickup and bank details) and place it inside the crate.
  4. Take two photos: one of the transmission in the crate before sealing, and one of the closed crate.
  5. Message us both photos. We'll send a freight label and book the courier.
  6. Once we receive the unit and confirm it's complete, we refund $100 to your nominated account.

How refunds are paid

Approved refunds are paid to the original payment method, or for core refunds to the bank account on your Core Return Form. Please allow up to 10 business days for the funds to appear.
